The most common question when buying online is always the same one: which size do I take. With European children's brands the answer is simple, as long as you remember one rule. The size follows the child's height, and the age is only a hint.
How to measure your child
- Stand your child against a wall, barefoot, with the heels touching the wall.
- Place a ruler or a book flat on the top of the head and mark the wall.
- Measure from the floor to the mark. That number in centimetres is what you look for on the label.
Measuring takes a minute and makes every purchase for the next year easier. Write the number down with the date, so you do not have to measure again in three months.
The size chart
- 56 / 62 is 56 to 62 centimetres, roughly 0 to 3 months
- 62 / 68 is 62 to 68 centimetres, roughly 3 to 6 months
- 74 / 80 is 68 to 80 centimetres, roughly 6 to 12 months
- 86 / 92 is 80 to 92 centimetres, roughly 1 to 2 years
- 98 / 104 is 92 to 104 centimetres, roughly 2 to 4 years
- 110 / 116 is 104 to 116 centimetres, roughly 4 to 6 years
- 122 / 128 is 116 to 128 centimetres, roughly 6 to 8 years
- 134 / 140 is 128 to 140 centimetres, roughly 8 to 10 years

When the measurement falls between two sizes
Take the larger one. A child gains at least two centimetres in three months, and a slightly roomy t shirt or pair of trousers serves far longer than one that fits exactly today. The only exceptions are items that have to sit close to the body, such as a swimsuit or a pair of tights.
Differences between brands
The same 98 / 104 sits slightly differently from one brand to the next. In our experience ZARA and H&M are often cut narrower, while C&A and NEXT are more generous. If your child is slim, a narrow cut will sit better; if they are sturdy or tall, choose a roomier model or go one size up.
Where the size is written on our site
Every product page states the exact size and the age it is meant for. The shop also has a size filter: open kids clothing, pick an age or a size on the left, and only what fits your child stays on the page. There are separate shelves for clothing for girls and clothing for boys.
